Prithvi (he/him) is a second-year graduate student in NYU’s Archives and Public History program (May 2026 completion). He focuses on digital archives & collections, identifying methods of ensuring access and discoverability for all without sacrificing context and nuance. Currently, he is the Digital Scholarship Specialist in NYU Libraries’ Open Knowledge division, and the Metadata Assistant at Film Comment Magazine.
Born and raised in Singapore, Prithvi arrived in the United States in 2019 to pursue a B.A. from Occidental College in Los Angeles, and graduated in 2023 with a double-major in History and Diplomacy & World Affairs. He focused on developing archives and museum experience in the subsequent year, working across multiple instituions in Los Angeles before moving to New York City for graduate school.
When he is not wading around in metadata, Prithvi volunteers at XFR Collective, a non-profit organization that works towards lowering the barriers to preserving at-risk audiovisual media. In his free time, you can find him bouldering at the local climbing gym, playing football (as in futbol), or hanging out with his cat, Dirt.
